Multi-Purpose Makeup ProductsWhether you are a beginner and want to build your vanity kit but have no idea where to start, or you’re travelling and don’t have enough space to pack everything in your vanity or you’re always in a hurry while heading to work; whatever be the case we all need some multipurpose products in our vanity kit to help us get ready faster every day. These may be products especially designed to serve different purposes or regular products that can be used in a lot different ways. So, today we’ll talk about some of these magical products that we all desperately need to get our hands on.

4 Types of multi-purpose makeups:

  • Foundation

One of the most basic product that every girl must have in her vanity but buying the right shade is very crucial. Considering your skin type( normal, oily, dry or combination), undertones( warm or cold), buy the foundation matching your shade perfectly. Once you have the perfect shade you can use your foundation as:

FoundationConcealer – You can layer us your foundation to hide any imperfections

Tinted moisturizer – You can mix a little bit of your face cream with the foundation to get a tinted moisturizer or a bb cream like coverage.

Primer – If your lids are not extremely oily and you want your eye shadow to stand out and last more, you can just use a little bit of your foundation and powder it. It works just as well.

Contour Cream or Highlighting Cream – If during shopping online or by the wrong suggestion of the shop assistant you buy a shade darker or lighter, you can just use them as contour or highlighter.

If you’re looking for a budget foundation with great coverage, you can checkout L’Oreal True Match Foundation or Revlon Color-stay Foundation which have a great coverage and a variety of shades.

  • Eye Liner

Now if you’re familiar with just liquid liners, let me tell you there’s a lot of different type of liners available in the market. There’s gel liner, felt tip liner, pencil liner, stick eye liners etc. Eye liners are a very versatile product and are available in a lot of different shades.

Eye LinerCream Eye Shadow – If you have a gel liner or a stick liner you can always use it as a cream eye shadow which you can use to create a beautiful smokey eye. Just make sure to blend it nicely. Some easily available eyeliners are Lakme Absolute Kohl and Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner.

Mascara – If you’ve run of mascara then just dip the mascara wand in your liquid liner and give your lashes a nice coat.

Eye Brow Pencil – You can use your stick or pencil liner as an eyebrow pencil to fill them. Just be sure to use light strokes and brush them afterwards with a spooley.

Lip Liner – If you have a stick liner in different shades, you can always use a light brown or a similar shade as your lip liner

Highlight – You can use your white liner as a highlight on the bridge of your nose, on your cupid’s bow, underneath your eyebrows and on your cheekbones. You can checkout Lakme Eyeconic in white or Essence white Pencil Kajal.

  • Lipstick

Another extremely staple product in every girl’s vanity, no matter how far away you are from makeup but I bet every girl has at least once in her life used a lipstick. But I bet you didn’t know you could use your lipstick in so many different ways.

LipstickLip Liner – To start with the most obvious one, if you’re using a dark shade and you don’t want to mess up, use a lip brush and first line your lips. Then fill them in with it as well and finish off with the lipstick to get the perfect dark lip.

Blush – when you’re in a hurry, using two different products for lips and cheeks can be avoided. Just dab a little bit of lipstick on your cheeks and blend it out with your fingers to get a very natural flush of color. This will also make your makeup look more in sync.

Cream Eye Shadow – Just like you use any other cream eye shadow, you can use lipstick instead.

  • Pressed Powder

A must-have product, Pressed powder has so many uses that you will lose count. Available in so many variants as mattying powder (Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact ), translucent powder(Maybelline Clear Glow compact), high coverage powder(Revlon Photoready Compact Makeup), powder to cream compact etc, pressed powders are a very versatile product.

If you’re a oily skinned girl, you can blot your face with pressed powder throughout the day to maintain a fresh face.

Pressed PowderBronzer or Contour Setting Powder – Again if you pick up a darker shade you can use it as a bronzer to warm up the sides of your face or you can set your contour with it.

Baking Powder – Baking has been in the trends for quite some time now. So if you pick out a lighter shade of the powder you can pack it on your under eye area for some time to bake. Then you can just brush it off with a big brush to get a well highlighted face.

You can also use your powder to make any lipstick  matte and prevent them from transferring. After you apply your lipstick, using a big brush you just have to brush the powder on your lips lightly to mattify it.

Other than these, there’s a lip and cheek tint which as the name suggests gives a flush of color to your lips and cheeks. Then you have all in one compacts which are foundation, concealer and powder in one
