3 Effective Homemade Face Masks to Treat Acne Naturally
One of the most common irritants a teenager faces in her life is those little red, black and white pustules which spring up on her face overnight!!! The most dreaded eruption which sometimes leaves her depressed and physically and psychologically scarred – The Pimple.
A pimple is a red, raised skin blemish that usually contains pus. The most common cause of pimples is acne, a skin disorder which occurs more commonly in teenagers. Acne is generally caused by hormonal changes that occur at puberty. One of the hormones released during this time is testosterone which stimulates the oil gland, Sebaceous gland, found just beneath our skin and close to the hair shaft. Dead skin and dirt on the surface of the skin plugs off the hair shaft and oil keeps getting accumulated under these plugs. A plugged pore causes a blemish which is called a blackhead or a whitehead. Pimples are caused by the Acne Bacillus, a type of germ which thrives in the accumulated oil. This germ makes irritating substances from the oil causing redness and pus.
Here are 3 easy and natural homemade face masks that can help to eliminate acne and pimples and enhance the overall skin health.

This mask can be applied regularly on the skin to eliminate acne.
3. Milk, Turmeric and Honey Face Mask for Acne
Milk is an active cleanser, turmeric a powerful antimicrobial and antiseptic agent, while honey is a rich moisturiser and skin relaxant. A mask containing all the three most effectively enhances skin health and clears acne easily.

Fresh milk – 1 to 2 tsp
Honey – 1 tsp
Add all the ingredients in a bowl and stir well to form a thin paste. If a thicker consistency of the mask is desired, then adding more sugar serves the purpose.
How to use?
Dip a paint brush in the liquid mask and apply it evenly over the neck and face. Using a paint brush helps to avoid yellow turmeric stains to appear on the nails. Let the mask stay for 15 minutes and then wash away with warm water. In case of appearance of a yellow tinge on the skin, rubbing the stained areas with a cotton ball dipped in milk, helps resolve the problem. This mask can be used 2 to 3 times a week.
